Broten, post office in Bonner Co., ID, established 1916 with Henry M. Peterson as postmaster. He was born 1858 in Iowa to Norwegian immigrant parents. His father carried the name Hans Pedersen Lovbraaten from Jaren, Oppland, Norway and Lovbraaten (Løvbråten) is the origin of the Brooten p.o. name. Discontinued 1954 with mail to Sandpoint.

Nordman is a community in Bonner Co., Idaho. It was named for John Nordman (1858-1938), a Norwegian who was a highly respected benefactor of the tiny community established in the Nordman area. The Nordman, ID post office opened 1915 with Barbara M. Seymour first postmaster, and it is still in operation.
